A Google Doodle inspired by my hometown, Surat.
Created as part of an animation project at SCAD, this doodle celebrates Surat’s deep connection to the textile industry. Known for its vibrant street food, diamond market, and thriving fabric trade, Surat is often called the “Silk City of India” because of its rich textile heritage and large-scale textile production.
For this project, I chose to focus on the city’s textile culture and translate it into a playful animated doodle that highlights the craftsmanship, color, and movement found within the industry. Designed with the idea of being featured on an annual Textile Day, the doodle aims to honor the importance of textiles and their presence in everyday life.
